Sir
I am a member of the Kottayam Preceptory from Kottayam under The United Religious, Military and masonic Orders of the Temple and of St. John of Jerusalem,Palestine, Rodes and Malta of England and Walesand its Provinces Overseas.
I have been scouring the web for reasons why the sash is worn under th belt.
While installing a knight in the Preceptory, the belt is worn first and then the sash as given in the ceremony. But then after that why does the sash come under the belt.
While it makes sense to have the sash under the belt, is there an explanation for the same.
I have asked various emminent knights all over and no one seems to have a clue. Some preceptories even wear the sash outside and over the belt.
You web page was a very appreciable one and I was wondering if you have an explanation.
Sorry for the trouble and thank you for any light on the matter.
Yours in the fraternity
