Northwich Preceptory, No. 558 was consecrated on 29th March 1990, and the Warrant dated 16th January 1990, at The Victoria Club, Northwich, by the Provincial Prior Right Eminent Knight The Revd. Kenneth Charles White T.D.,and the Past Provincial Prior, Right Eminent Knight Dr. Horace Ingham, Knight Commander of the Temple, at which time the Very Eminent Knight Albert Oswald Dearden OBE, DL, Past Great Registrar, Provincial Sub-Prior was Installed as the First Preceptor.
Present were 18 Consecrating Officers, 19 Knight Petitioners and 22 visitors.

The Logo of the Preceptory links to the ancient town of Northwich and consists of Salt Arches which were built out of rock salt and bags of white salt erected in the town to celebrate National and Local events. A point of interest is that the spurs used by the Preceptory were worn at the last Cavalry Charge made by the British Army.

During its relatively short life, Northwich Preceptory has played an active part in the Provincial Priory of Cheshire, and has Installed over forty Knights with a strong membership in the high thirties. The Preceptory enjoys it’s Musters and Festive Board, and is a Patron of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution and a keen contributor to The Saint John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital.

The Annual Malta Ceremony is organised in rotation by Northwich, De Tabley and Temple Priory on the First Thursday in November when the new Knights are installed in the Order.
