The Preceptory was Consecrated on Wednesday 4th June 1997 at The Masonic Hall, Cheshie View, Christleton, Chester with 28 Founder Members. The Consecrating Officer was the Provincial Prior R.E.Kt. John Finlay Hibbert K.C.T. assisted by the Provincial Prelate E.Kt.Rev.K.C.Taylor Gt.Almoner.

E.Kt.Thomas Mathias Jones P.Pr.Reg.(Lancs) was Installed as the first Preceptor by E.Kt.Stephen Clayton-Barker, P. Gt A de C Provincial Sub-Prior.

There was a total of 101 knights present. The meeting dates for the Preceptory were set at the first fifth Friday in the first quarter and the first fifth Thursday in the second and fourth quarters.These have now been simplified to the third Thursday in February, June (Installation) and November (Malta).

On Thursday 30th April 1998 the Preceptory Banner was dedicated by the Provincial Prior R.E.Kt. John Finlay Hibbert K.C.T. when 73 brother knights were in attendance.The Preceptory is proud to have had the honour of hosting the Celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Provincial Priory of Cheshire on Thursday 30th November 2000 which was attended by 112 brother knights including 13 distinguished guests from neighbouring Provinces.

Since its Consecration 20 companions have been Installed as knights of which 6 have to date progressed to be Eminent Preceptor.

The Preceptory is very proud of the fact that it has never been without a candidate.
