Gallery – including the Provincial Prior’s Luncheon

KT – Grosvenor Sesquicentenary 2 December 2025

“The Grosvenor Preceptory No. 132 was honoured by the presence of the Most Eminent and Supreme Grand Master Paul Raymond Clement, OStJ, GCT at the celebration of 150 years of the Preceptory.

The ME and S Grand Master was welcomed by the Provincial Prior, R E KT Alan Pierce, JP, supported by Provincial Officers and members of his Bodyguard who formed an Arch of Steel to receive the Grand Master.

The evening not only celebrated the milestone of 150 years, but also saw the Installation of a new Knight – Comp. Nigel Argyle of Loyal City Chapter No. 4839. The Grand Master delivered the Accolade and welcomed Kt. Nigel into the Order.

V E Kt Steven John Warwick, Past 1st. Great Constable, the Great Marshal, R E Kt Tim Wheeler GCT and E Kt Alan Brumwell, Deputy Great Vice-Chancellor were present to support the Grand Master;  the Great Marshal kept a watchful eye over the proceedings and E Kt Alan, acting as Great Vice-Chancellor, read out both the original Warrant (fortunately he had prepared an English translation from the original Latin) and the Sesquicentenary Warrant.

The festive board following the meeting was held at the Grosvenor Hotel – the original home of the Preceptory – where all were well looked after.

Overall, an excellent and most enjoyable way to mark the first 150 years of Grosvenor Preceptory and an unforgettable welcome for the latest recruit to our marvellous Order.”

Provincial Prior’s Luncheon – July 2023

Nearly 100 Knights, friends and family members sat down for a most enjoyable lunch at the Provincial Prior’s Sunday luncheon at Cheshire View, Christleton on the 23rd. of July 2023.

Food and service provided by the hall caterers (Sticky Sausage Catering) was once again first class.

Attendees provided a large number of prizes for the raffle (mostly bottle shaped) and through the generosity of all, the raffle raised £515.

As in previous years the raffle proceeds go to local Children’s Hospices which provide vital support in Cheshire and North Wales. Over £3,500 has been raised for this most worthy cause and this year’s proceeds will go to Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice, based near Conwy in North Wales.

Details of the charities supported by the Province of Cheshire and North Wales can be found by following the links on the Charity page of the website.

The Provincial Prior wishes to thank everyone who attended for their support.
