Saint David, or in Wales, Dewi Sant (c. 500\u2013589), in contrast with the other national patron saints of the British Isles and Ireland, is a native of the country of which he is the Patron Saint.<\/p>\n

Sixteen Knights petitioned to form a Preceptory, the Warrant for which is dated 1st November 1974 and consecrated on the 23rd January 1975 at Farfield Hall, Connah\u2019s Quay, in the county of what was then Clwyd.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was performed by the Provincial Prior, Dr Horace Ingham, assisted by the Provincial Sub Prior, Very Eminent Knight Major Frank Osmond.
\nE.Kt., The Reverend, Kenneth Charles White, Provincial Chancellor, had the honour of being the first Eminent Preceptor; he was later to become Provincial Prior.<\/p>\n

In 2014, The Preceptory moved to its present location; The Lady Augusta Hall at Rhewl. The first meeting was held on Thursday 23rd January 2014. The building was originally a school and was built in 1870 by monies donated by Lady Augusta, in memory of her late husband, Lord Mostyn. This old and well looked after building overlooks the Port of Mostyn on the Dee estuary with a splendid view of the Wirral.<\/p>\n

The Preceptory is now well established and in good heart and held its 25th Anniversary during 2000, and is looking forward to the 50th Anniversary in 2025.<\/p>\n
